Application Market Development Manager (No.LD140909)
PURPOSE
Develop and implement RGC Application & Market Development strategy for the Manufacturing Industries (MI) segment by working with RGC business segments (bulk & PGP sales teams), aligning with global BA MPG counterparts. This includes assessing and prioritizing the MI sub industry segments as defined in the Global Process Industries PSOs, based on market opportunities, strategic fit and available application technologies.
– Promoting gas-based solutions for the Laser, Arc Welding and Plastics & Cryogenics sub-segments within MI.
– Optimizing existing customer processes
– Transferring the know-how from to the Application Sales team
– Providing direct Application Sales support to MI ASEs, leveraging Global MI support
– Collaborating with international OEMs with the support from Marketing PGP Product Management, professional associations and leading key accounts
– Further enhance Company’s market leading position in the MI market segment

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the MI market segment development in the RBU and its related sub industry segments.
- Identify market trends & areas of growth, issues & other opportunities
- Propose and coordinate specific campaigns
- Monitor the major business win/losses
- Establish and maintain an extensive network with the most relevant OEMs, professional associations & key accounts, and with application sales team, sharing best practices & success stories
- Drive complex customer projects (co-own with Application Sales team) or projects for regional customer accounts & support the business development of applications in the MI market segment in the RBU:
- Support in defining best technical solution and support in complex commercial offer preparation in collaboration with the Application Sales team
- Manage the interface with central teams
- Support test trials for complex solutions at customer site (if necessary)
- Represent RGC in the Global Market Segment Leadership &/or Global Expert Teams (as appropriate )
- Develop technical competence of the local country teams in line with agreed priorities
- Further enhance Company’s market leading position in the MI market segment
- Leading the Joint Activity Planning (JAP) to align RBU requirements with BA support and product development
- Bench marking and sharing successful application cases, best practices, competition activities, lessons learned in other RBUs or different areas inside the RBU.
- Bench marking the market segment results with other Company RBUs and competition
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Professional Degree in Engineering or marketing
- Post-graduation in Marketing or MBA
- 5+ years of experience in marketing or commercial areas; product management or business development, with MI market segment experience preferred
- Experience in strategy development & implementation
- Ability to build strategic relationship with internal and external stakeholders
- Network with government, industrial and institutional technical opinion leaders
- Working within a matrix style, cross culture, multi-functional, team-based environment
- Industrial and/or commercial experience in the area of MI market segment is a plus
- Ability to integrate market needs with technological innovation
- Knowledge management of application PSO
- Superior results focus and ability to track and monitor progress against plan.
- Excellent influencing & facilitation skills, experience in managing cross functional groups.
- Ability to lead & motivate team(s), working with globally/regionally diverse teams
- RBU Bulk and PGP business segment teams, including ASE teams
- RBU Functional Team (CES, Operations, Distribution, Finance, HR, IS where required)
